David Oliveira

AKA Thelisbonwireman

Biography

David Oliveira was born in Lisbon in 1980.

Degree in Sculpture in 2008 and a postgraduate degree in 2010 (unfinished master's degree) in Drawing and Comparative Anatomy from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon, the city where he lives and works.

 

In 2010 was distinguished with the 1st prize for sculpture in Aveiro and revelation prize D. Fernando II, Sintra; was selected for the young creators of Lisbon in the following year.

He taught Visual Arts and design in public schools, was a teacher of scenography and props in the professional stage assistant course (Teatro Malaposta). In 2010 he began to dedicate himself exclusively to sculpture and to participate in cultural and international events, as well as print and online publications.

During this period, he developed partnerships with other creators and institutions such as: Nuno Gama, Storytaylors, TVI, Galeria 111, Casa da Cerca, Museu da Água, Fundação Champalimaud, Casa dell' Arte, Underdogs, Ille de Dance, Arte clip, the Museu do London Design, Young Homelessness UK, Dinnerware Museum USA, Black Dog (film production company), Mitsui & co.
